Do you have a personal story you would like to share with others?
If you, a family member, or a friend has experienced anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, an eating disorder, panic disorder, postpartum depression, OCD, post-traumatic stress disorder, or substance abuse, and you would like share your story with us, we will be happy to review your submission. You may write about your own personal experience or you may choose to discuss your experience as a friend or caregiver to someone who has lived with a mental illness. At Moods magazine, we believe that sharing personal stories helps others to better understand mental illness and the people who live with it. Providing others with this information also helps to eliminate the stigma attached to mental illness.
We encourage you to speak out about your experience, but we understand that some people may prefer to remain anonymous. For those who do not wish to provide full disclosure, we will consider publishing your story on our website. However, in an effort to remove the stigma attached to mental illness, it is our policy that anyone wishing to be published in print must provide their full name, along with a photograph to accompany their article.
To submit your story for consideration, please fill out the form below—Maximum 1500 words per article. Moods does not pay for personal stories. If your story is accepted, you will be notified by e-mail in advance of being published. At that time, you will be provided instructions on how to submit your photo. With the large number of submissions we receive, it may be several months before your receive a response. Only those submissions that are accepted will be contacted.
